Release

Part 3 of Expansive Empowered Living

Part Three of Empowered Expansive Living focuses on the theme of Release, where we shed the shadow to remember the light.

We begin with our invocation. Here you are invited to notice and name what has been standing in the way of:

  • Your most expansive, empowered living.
  • Your biggest, boldest, most brilliant becoming.
  • The life you desire but do not yet fully experience.

From a place of brilliance, we look back to uncover hidden patterns, programs, or beliefs that may still linger. We will use a powerful process to release these limitations. We will also dive deeper into the subconscious to understand how it can hold us back. As we shed the shadow, we remember the light, knowing that only what is held in love can be set free. This is not about eliminating anything, but rather about deeper integration, transformation, and moving toward what we truly desire.

1. The Teaching

Part 3 focuses on releasing the hidden patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that block empowered, expansive living. The shadow includes projections, judgments, victimhood, and outdated patterns, but it simply indicates that light is near. The goal is not to eliminate the shadow but to integrate and transform it through love and awareness.

Key Insights:

  • The Shadow: Represents unconscious behaviors and limiting beliefs often rooted in childhood or societal conditioning. Ignoring the shadow only strengthens it.
  • Impact: Unexamined shadows can shrink our dreams and lead to settling for less. By bringing them to light, we reclaim choice and power.
  • Transformation: When acknowledged, shadows can become gifts, guiding us to clarity, self-acceptance, and wholeness.
  • Release Process:
    1. Identify patterns that no longer serve you.
    2. Explore the root belief in the subconscious.
    3. Install new empowering beliefs guided by your higher self.
    4. Integrate and anchor these shifts into your being.

The process is simple yet powerful and often yields profound insights and transformation.

2. A Practice

This section guides you in aligning with your vision and intention through physical and reflective practices. You are invited to stand, ground yourself, and visualize stepping into the boldest, most brilliant version of yourself. By embodying this vision, you then look back at your present self to identify what obstacles or patterns stand in the way. The process encourages you to ask what you need to release to fully embody this new version of yourself. Finally, you are prompted to journal your insights and discoveries, preparing for the next module, Embody.

Journal your thoughts after experiencing this practice:

  1. Center Yourself
  2. Align with your Vision/Intention
  3. Stand up and step into it - bask, experience
  4. Align with your Vision/Intention
  5. Stand up and step into it - bask, experience.

3. Discover the Shadow

This 3-minute video focuses on journaling to uncover what has been holding you back from your fullest potential.

4. Sacred Release Process

This guided visualization focuses on shedding limitations (the shadow) and integrating a new, empowering truth.

Process Overview

  • Preparation:
Create a sacred space, breathe deeply, and shift your awareness inward. Connect your feet to the earth and your crown to the sun, uniting both energies in your heart.
  • Releasing the Box:
Visualize a box representing your limits and shadows.
    • Remove the ceiling (limits on possibilities).
    • Dismantle the four walls:
      1. Front – “Who I should be” beliefs.
      2. Left – Past stories and wounds.
      3. Back – Ancestral programming and karma.
      4. Right – Future fears and anxieties.
  • Identifying and Releasing the Theme:
Recognize the core theme or thread holding you back (e.g., unworthiness, fear). Visualize releasing it, watching it dissolve into light.
  • Claiming a New Theme:
Golden light rains down with a new empowering truth (e.g., “I am free to be me”). Speak this truth and let it integrate into every aspect of your being.
  • Integration:
Repeat the new statement three times, feeling it anchor across all dimensions, states of awareness, and even your DNA.
  • Completion:
Bask in the feeling of freedom and empowerment. Journal your insights and experiences to deepen integration.

This process helps dissolve limiting beliefs and replace them with aligned, expansive truths.

5. Journaling

After completing the release process, journal from your renewed state of awareness. Reconnect with your final statement or new theme, and let your thoughts flow freely.

Key Reflection Prompts:

  • What insights arose during the process?
  • What theme did you release?
  • What new energy are you stepping into?
  • What is your new integrated theme?
  • Affirm your wholeness by stating: “I am whole. I am holy. I am free.”
  • Write from this space of freedom and integration to deepen your transformation.

6. Shadow Love Letter

After completing the main process, there are two final practices to explore:

  1. Write a Shadow Love Letter:
    • From your higher self, write a letter to your shadow, thanking it for protecting you.
    • Optionally, write a response from the shadow back to your now-whole self.
  2. Catch and Compassion:
    • When a shadow moment arises in real time, simply notice it.
    • Meet it with curiosity rather than resistance or shame.

This bonus practice invites you to connect with a tree to experience natural integration and grounding. Ideally, do this exercise with a physical tree in nature, but you can also visualize it during meditation.

Steps:

  1. Sit with a tree and observe its roots, trunk, and branches as symbols of effortless integration.
  2. Imagine yourself as the tree—your body as the trunk, your roots grounding deeply into the earth, and your branches representing your gifts and expression in the world.
  3. Notice the feeling of wholeness and integration within yourself.
  4. As an optional step, if you're near a tree, silently ask it to "reach out and touch you," and notice any sensations, awareness shifts, or emotional responses.

This exercise helps cultivate connection, grounding, and embodied integration.
