I didn't arrive at this work from a textbook. I arrived at it through loss, reinvention, grief, and the quiet courage it takes to begin again - more than once. 

My own path has been anything but linear. Marine biologist, Soldier, Minister, Counselor, Coach, Founder, and Author. Each life chapter asked me to let go of who I'd been and figure out, often without a map, who I was becoming next. Some of those beginnings I chose. Others were chosen for me.

What I learned, the hard way, across all of it: showing up for people isn't one-size-fits-all. There's no single 'right' way to companion someone - only the way that's naturally, authentically yours. Across every reinvention - minister, counselor, coach - one thread stayed the same; the specific way I showed up for people, even when everything else about the role changed.
