What Kind of Support Do You Actually Need Right Now?

People often offer the kind of support that's easiest for them to give, not necessarily what you need. Well-meaning advice, cheerful distraction, constant checking in - sometimes it helps, and sometimes it just adds more to manage.

This quiz maps your answers to four real kinds of support - Space, Structure, Companionship, and Solitude - so you can finally ask for, or give yourself, what helps.

This is a 2-minute quiz to name what would actually help — not what everyone assumes you need.

hello!

I'm Pami Parker, Author & Life Transitions Companion

I didn't arrive at this work from a textbook. I arrived at it through loss, reinvention, grief, and the quiet courage it takes to begin again - more than once.

My own path has been anything but linear. Marine biologist, Soldier, Minister, Counselor, Coach, Founder, and Author. Each life chapter asked me to let go of who I'd been and figure out, often without a map, who I was becoming next. Some of those beginnings I chose. Others were chosen for me.

What I learned, the hard way, across all of it: the support that actually helps changes with the season — and it's rarely the support people default to offering. Sometimes what I needed was someone to simply back off and trust me to find my own way. Other times I needed a plan, or someone willing to sit beside me, or nothing at all but silence and a closed door. Across every reinvention, what I actually needed kept changing, even when the people around me kept offering the same thing.

That's exactly why this quiz exists. I built it so you can name what you need right now, the same recognition it took me years and several life-altering transitions to learn to ask for myself. In two minutes, you'll have language for something you may have never stopped naming.

You already know, somewhere, what kind of support would actually help. I'm just here to help you name it clearly, so you can ask for it directly — instead of hoping the people around you guess right.
