Soft Place to Land

arriving gently self-care

Sometimes life changes before the heart has caught up. Sometimes a woman finds herself standing in the middle of a life she no longer fully recognizes, carrying questions she cannot yet answer. This serenade is an offering for that sacred in-between. A soft place for the weary heart. A gentle place to rest while becoming. Here is Soft Place to Land.

She stood in the quiet kitchen light
Cup in her hands, heart not feeling right
Morning came, but not the same
Something had shifted; nothing had a name
Rooms were filled with echoes now
Of all she’d been and all somehow
Slipped like water through her hands
She did not know where she would land

She didn’t need the reasons why
She only needed space to cry
One small breath, one gentle hand
One little place to softly land

May this be a soft place to land
When life has slipped right out of your hands
When all you knew has changed its name
And nothing looks or feels the same
May you be held, may you withstand
May grace arrive before you understand
And when you cannot see ahead
May this be a soft place to rest

She wore her strength like a second skin
Held it together, tucked pain within
But even strong hearts need somewhere kind
A sacred pause, a little time
No final plan, no need to know
Just one small step, and moving slow
Just room enough to breathe again
And trust the healing can begin

A whisper rose, both soft and clear
Beloved one, you’re still right here
And though this season feels undone
You do not have to force the sun

May this be a soft place to land
When life has slipped right out of your hands
When all you knew has changed its name
And nothing looks or feels the same
May you be held, may you withstand
May grace arrive before you understand
And when you cannot see ahead
May this be a soft place to rest

You do not have to bloom today
You do not have to find your way
You do not have to know it all
You only need to hear love call

May this be a soft place to land
A little mercy where you stand
And if the only thing you do
Is to breathe, rest, and make it through
May you be held, may you be known
Until your heart feels more like home
And if you cannot rise just yet
May this be a soft place to rest

Soft place to land
Soft place to land
