Self-Care Cafe

Breathing Inner Presence

Season #1

Welcome to the Self-Care Café Meditation Space.

This is a place where you are invited to pause, breathe, and gently reconnect with the present moment.

Today, we will explore a meditation called Breathing Into Presence.

Often, when life feels overwhelming or busy, our attention moves away from the present moment. Our minds may become occupied with worries about the future or reflections on the past.

Yet the present moment is always available to us.

And one of the simplest ways to return to it is through the breath.

Each breath offers an opportunity to slow down, soften, and reconnect with what is happening right now.

During this meditation, we will gently bring our attention to the natural rhythm of breathing, allowing each breath to guide us back into presence.

Let’s begin.

🧭 Breathing Into Presence Meditation

Take a moment to find a comfortable position.

You may choose to sit upright with your feet resting on the floor.

Or lie down if that feels more supportive.

Allow your hands to rest comfortably.

If it feels comfortable, gently close your eyes.

Begin by noticing the support beneath your body.

Allow your shoulders to soften.

Relax your jaw.

Let your forehead be smooth.

Now take a slow breath in through your nose.

…and gently release the breath through your mouth.

Again.

Breathing in slowly.

…and breathing out softly.

Allow your breathing to settle into its natural rhythm.

There is nothing you need to change.

Simply notice the breath as it flows in.

…and as it flows out.

You might notice the gentle rise of your chest.

Or the movement of your belly.

Perhaps you feel the coolness of the air as you breathe in.

…and the warmth as you breathe out.

Allow your attention to rest softly on these sensations.

If your mind begins to wander, that is perfectly natural.

When you notice this happening, gently guide your attention back to the breath.

Breathing in.

…and breathing out.

Each breath is an invitation to return to this moment.

Now imagine that with each inhale, you are welcoming the present moment.

And with each exhale, you are releasing any tension or busyness from the mind.

Breathing in presence.

…and breathing out ease.

Allow a few quiet moments here to simply breathe.

Now slowly deepen your breathing.

Take a slightly fuller breath in.

…and gently release it.

Bring your awareness back to the space around you.

Notice the support beneath your body.

Gently wiggle your fingers and toes.

Perhaps stretch your shoulders or neck.

And when you feel ready, slowly open your eyes.

Take one final slow breath.

And whenever you need a quiet moment to pause, breathe, and reconnect with yourself, the Self-Care Café will always be here.

You are welcome exactly as you are.

📓 Journaling Prompts

If you would like to continue reflecting, you may wish to explore:

• What did you notice as you focused on your breathing?
• Did your sense of presence shift during the meditation?
• How might returning to your breath support you throughout the day?

Allow your reflections to unfold gently.

📓 Integration Reminder

You may wish to take a few minutes to:

• write down anything you noticed during the meditation
• reflect on what felt calming or grounding
• note one insight you would like to remember

Moments of awareness often reveal themselves in simple ways.

🌱 Gentle Action Invitation

Before continuing your day, ask yourself:

💭 When might I pause and take one mindful breath today?

Perhaps before beginning something new.

Perhaps during a busy moment.

Or simply when you wish to reconnect with yourself.

Even one conscious breath can bring you back into presence.

And here in the Self-Care Café, you are always welcome to return — one breath at a time.
